Watercolour, oil painting, drawing, sketching, life in Hong Kong

On location oil sketch of flowering kapok trees at Shek Kong Barracks. It’s the largest cluster of flowering kapok trees I have ever seen, should have been there for tens of years to grow their branches into unique forms and shapes. Good that it’s still accessible when the trees flower, maintaining an idyllic ambiance.

On location oil sketch on 8th day of Lunar New Year at Pat Heung. This is a village store/café just behind Pat Heung Old Temple, set against a giant banyan tree. Staying here for a few hours, you will get a taste of the good old village version of Lunar New year: fire crackers, temple worship processions, surround sound of family mahjong & betting & chitchats….
